About the Role

 
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced influential leader to join the Network Services team to take on the role as Senior Field Leader based at our Brooklyn depot.
 
Reporting to the Field Delivery Manager, the successful incumbent will manage the overhead works program (construction, maintenance and restoration works) allocated to the area in a way that meets and exceeds key performance metrics.
 
You will play a pivotal role in managing and leading a depot of Field Leaders, employees, contractors and service providers with technical skillsets to meet the requirements of the company, and our clients, as measured by health, safety, environmental, schedule, quality and cost metrics.
 


 
Key duties and responsibilities
 

  • Lead the delivery of our Overhead capital works program
  • Provide leadership for employees and resources across a whole depot/area.
  • Provide support, direction and leadership to local (or across area) Field Leaders in all operational and people-related tasks.
  • Play a lead role in the implementation of improvement programs to drive innovation in all parts of the workplace.
  • Provide strategic direction to local field teams to enhance capability and efficiency in an ever-changing operational environment.
  • Ensure the effective coordination of multi discipline teams working on complex electrical distribution projects.
  • Support the Field Delivery Manager in managing people issues and opportunities as required, and acting as an SME for business improvement initiatives.
  • Proactively play a part in driving and developing capabilities and skills across the teams in the depot.
  • Be a strong role model and champion of Health, Safety & Environment values.
     
     


Required skills and experience
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in an Engineering or Management discipline with demonstrated extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the electrical distribution industry.
  • Significant experience at a senior leadership role and management of a large, unionised field /construction workforce.
  • Experience in work force change and planning and implementing transformation to a large skilled resource group to meet customer requirements.
  • Experience in implementing best practice field leadership and practices.
  • Extensive experience in identifying, planning, and innovating business models as well as developing new channels, business models or business transformation.
  • Candidates from similar industries (Construction, Telecommunications, Utilities, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
