About the role

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Plant Maintenance Officer to join our Maintenance team in a full-time and permanent capacity based in any of the following depots: Richmond, Brooklyn, Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo.

 

The role itself is responsible for providing key technical field expertise and knowledge to assist in coordinating the delivery of the electrical plant maintenance program within CitiPower and Powercor’s zone and distribution substations, including Regulators, ACR’s and other related distribution plant and equipment. This involves the creation, issue and subsequent technical evaluation and closeout of all routine, fault and defect job files.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Issue, manage and close out Plant Maintenance defects across the CitiPower and Powercor networks.
  • Technical evaluation, prioritisation (as required) and responsibility for monitoring work status and target date achievement for routine primary plant, secondary systems routine maintenance and defects.
  • Effectively monitoring all maintenance (Routine, defect and breakdown) activities.
  • Management and timely input into SAP of Primary, Secondary and Property maintenance data, including faults and defects information.
  • Equipment and functional location creation / update SAP data base post equipment replacement and network augmentation projects, cost monitoring and control, accurate reporting, and forecasting.
  • Actively support and gain employee engagement in new or modified processes and systems.
  • Provide technical support to; and liaise with key stakeholders to modify, update or risk assess delivery outcomes.

What you’ll need from day one

 

  • Advanced Diploma of ESI - Power Systems; Power Systems Electrician / Fitter qualification or relevant technical experience in HV distribution industry.
  • Substantial experience in electrical plant maintenance, testing or construction of Terminal/Zone and distribution substation plant
  • Working knowledge of the primary and secondary plant as well as the electricity transmission and distribution networks (including design principles)
  • Demonstrate initiative and lateral thinking in resolving issues and problems
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively
  • Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office programs
