About the Role
We have a unique opportunity for an experienced influential leader to join the Network Services team to take on the role as Field Leader - Overhead based at our Geelong Depot.
Reporting to the Field Delivery Manager, the successful incumbent will manage the overhead works program (construction, maintenance and restoration works) allocated to the workgroup.
You will play a pivotal role in managing and leading a team of employees, contractors and service providers with overhead technical skillsets to meet network services and client requirements as measured by health, safety, environmental, schedule, quality and cost metrics.
Key responsibilities
- Provide local leadership for a team of Overhead Lineworkers & Cable jointer employees and resources.
- Play a lead role in the implementation of improvement programs to drive continuous improvement and best practice across the workgroup.
- Proactively communicate process, technology and organisational change at the field operations level.
- Provide oversight for project scoping, planning, resourcing and resolution of technical issues or faults.
- Support the Field Delivery Manager in managing people and performance issues and opportunities as required.
- Proactively play a part in driving and developing capabilities and skills across the resources team
- Be a strong role model and champion of Health, Safety & Environment values
Key criteria
- Management or leadership related qualification or equivalent demonstrated experience in field leadership roles.
- Previous experience as a team leader, construction project leader, work group leader would be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in construction, maintenance and technically related activities.
- Distribution construction or design experience would be desirable.
- Previous experience in Project / Contract Management with the ability to apply project management principles in an electrical distribution/construction environment.
