About the role:                      

 

To carry out the duties associated with construction, commissioning, operating and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission/distribution systems, up to and including customer supply at service points.

The role focuses on frontline delivery of works, relating to overhead electrical distribution systems. This is through technical competence and timely service delivery via effective planning and assessment.

The Distribution Line Worker is accountable to operate safely and effectively as a team member in the work environment. At times incumbents must be prepared to work away from home and in all weather conditions.

The role is critical in ensuring a reliable, safe supply is maintained to customers, customer satisfaction is delivered, metering regulatory obligations are met and the efficient use of skill and resources is achieved.

 

 

 

What you’ll deliver:

 

 

  • Undertake duties associated with the construction, commissioning, operating and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission/distribution systems
  • Operate plant, tools and equipment in relation to construction, commissioning, operating and maintenance of overhead and underground transmission/distribution systems
  • Locate & rectify faults
  • Install and maintain metering at customers premises
  • Install and maintain overhead and underground services
  • Effectively manage work priorities and make sensible decisions about the time required to complete tasks and to attend client appointments

 

 

To succeed in the role you’ll have: 

 

 

  • Qualification of a Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems – Distribution Overhead or previous equivalent (mandatory)
  • ESI Worker (compulsory for Victoria based candidates, no requirement to attach evidence as information is already included in ESI Worker) including VESI Rigging 
  • ESV licence as a Lineworker or meet the eligibility criteria to apply (mandatory)
  • Heavy Vehicle Licence - HR (mandatory)
  • High Voltage Operating training / authority (mandatory)
  • Interstate applicants, please attach evidence of Qualification, Statement of Attainment, High Risk Licences and Construction Induction Card to your application including VESI Rigging
