About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced workforce development and planning professional to join our growing Health, Safety and Sustainability team on a full-time permanent capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.
This role will play a critical role in supporting Beon’s site-based project teams by providing oversight and coordination of workforce planning, employment programs, learning & development programs and capability development across our projects. Working across Renewables, Utilities & Infrastructure, Commissioning, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M), this role ensures workforce solutions are effectively designed and implemented to support our construction workforce while strengthening Beon’s inclusive culture, training capability and community impact.
This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with project teams in dynamic construction environments and is passionate about creating meaningful employment and development pathways.
*There is a requirement of this role to travel occasionally to projects sites.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner with project teams to plan, deliver and manage workforce and employment programs across Beon projects
- Lead relationships with labour hire partners and support effective workforce mobilisation
- Support First Peoples employment, training and participation outcomes across projects
- Provide advice and coordination on union engagement and industrial relations matters in collaboration with VPN HR team when required
- Oversee onboarding, compliance and behavioural alignment of externally contracted site resources
- Lead and coordinate learning, training and competency requirements in collaboration with HSE, technical training and project teams
- Support leadership development, succession planning and long-term workforce capability growth.

What you’ll need from day one:
- Degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Environmental or Social Sciences, or a related discipline (desirable)
- IAP2 qualifications (desirable)
- Experience working with large, site-based workforces, ideally within construction or major projects environments
- Strong capability in designing and leading workforce development and vocational training programs
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build commitment across all levels
- Solid understanding of VET frameworks and training packages relevant to the Electricity Supply Industry
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across project teams and external partners
- Demonstrated experience supporting organisational change in complex, fast-paced environments.
