About the role:     

 

We are currently seeking experienced Technical Trainer to join our Technical Training Team and work directly with our front-line field services employees in delivering initial and refresher training programs and supporting external industry providers. This role will be employed in a permanent capacity based across multiple locations within our regions. 

 

In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and delivering CitiPower / Powercor, UE and external partners training programs, ensuring high-quality training and development for apprentices and industry professionals.

 

This is a critical support role to the development, coordination, delivery and compliance management of our technical training programs. In addition, this role will work with other business units including Works Practices to assist with audit programs, maintenance of works practice manuals and updating of procedures.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous electrical trade experience and have worked in a training or assessment role in the past. In addition, this candidate will have excellent stakeholder management skills, a positive attitude and have a safety-first attitude.

 

What you’ll deliver:

 

  • Comprehensive Training Programs: Develop, deliver, and assess both new and refresher training courses tailored to the needs of CitiPower and Powercor Field Services.
  • High-Quality Learning Resources: Design, develop, and implement engaging and effective training materials that meet stakeholder expectations and industry standards.
  • Project Leadership in Training Development: Provide expert guidance in the design and execution of training programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Structured Learning Frameworks: Create and embed robust training frameworks and scripts to enhance learning effectiveness.
  • Ongoing Coaching and Support: Offer continuous mentoring and guidance to trainees and employees to support skill development and competency achievement.
  • Industry Engagement and Compliance: Actively participate in relevant industry forums and working groups (e.g., VESI, ESI Worker) to ensure training aligns with industry best practices.
  • Efficient Training Delivery and Records Management: Maintain accurate documentation of training activities, ensuring compliance with training schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Commitment to Professional Development: Continuously enhance personal knowledge and expertise in technical training methodologies and industry advancements.
  • Safety Leadership: Contribute to a strong safety culture within CitiPower, Powercor, and United Energy Field Services, ensuring training reflects the highest safety standards.
  • Effective Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, clients, and key stakeholders to ensure successful training outcomes.
  • Timely Completion of Work Plans: Deliver assigned projects and training initiatives within agreed timelines and performance expectations.

 

To succeed in the role you’ll have: 

 

  • Trade certified - hold a Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead or equivalent
  • Currently hold a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment TAE40116 or TAE40122
  • Extensive experience in the Electricity Distribution industry
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite and 365 applications
  • Willingness to train apprentices 
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal that enable effective interaction between key stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, plan and work to priorities to meet pre-determined deliverables and outcomes within established timelines.
  • Be a highly disciplined, self-starting member of a dynamic team.
  • Willingness to work and travel to other depot locations, as required
  • Valid Victoria Driver License
