About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to join our growing Utilities and infrastructure team, based at our Melbourne CBD head office, on an initial 12-month maximum-term contract with a strong opportunity for extension and permanency.

 

You will be responsible for planning, leading, and managing on-site construction activities for Beon Energy Solutions, ensuring key project deliverables are achieved safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working on site-based construction projects, ideally within electrical infrastructure, utilities, or a trade-based environment. You will also bring strong communication, planning, time management, record-keeping, and stakeholder management skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan, monitor and report on allocated site construction activities, identify risks and opportunities, assess and document plant, equipment services and materials required to complete works.
  • Provide effective management and direction of allocated construction activities on site having accountability for the allocated resources, health and safety, environment, productivity, adherence to schedule and quality of work.
  • Ensure contractors and contractor activities comply with scope, quality, legislative, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with multiple and varied stakeholders including designers, engineers, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers.
  • Provide effective leadership and management of work crews (Electrical and Civil), to ensure that the agreed outcomes of the projects are met.
  • Prepare construction methodologies and estimate durations for construction activities as input to project programs and tender proposals.
  • Assist in the preparation, evaluation and issue of requests for quotes or tenders for construction, major plant and/or materials in line with the project scope and specification.

What you’ll need from day one 

  • Current trade or tertiary qualification in electrical, building or construction management (required)
  • Detailed knowledge of the construction practices particularly as they relate to the electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure industry with a working knowledge of technical standards, construction practices and OH&S
  • Significant experience with Substation Construction.
  • Proven ability to apply construction management principles, preferably in an electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure environment.
  • Completion of management, leadership, commercial or similar program is preferred
