About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our new and growing Transmission and Major Projects team as a Site Manager in a full-time and permanent capacity based in Melbourne.
This role will be responsible for overseeing the on-site construction activities of our Major Projects to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll manage contractors and field teams, safety and delivery performance, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
There will be the requirement for this role to travel to various project sites in Victoria.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate on-site delivery of electrical and civils construction works including overhead lines, plant & stations and underground cable project works, ensuring compliance with safety, time, budget, quality and environmental standards.
- Comprehensive reporting on field works construction performance including actions to ensure objectives and targets are achieved
- Lead and supervise teams, including contractors, to ensure smooth daily operations and high-performance outcomes.
- Oversee site contracts and finances, including cost control, variations, forecasting, and schedule tracking.
- Ensure safety compliance, participate in investigations, and support health and safety audits across all site activities.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, maintain schedules, resolve conflicts, and contribute to project reporting and documentation.
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Current certification in electrical distribution and applicable VESI authorities.
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Work Group (Site) Leader, or demonstrated leadership in the electrical construction field
- Proven ability and demonstrated experience to apply project management principles in electrical construction.
- Previous working experience around managing a construction site and/or supervising and coaching a team of contractors on a project site
- Demonstrated experience in supervising and controlling site aspects associated with electrical infrastructure construction for transmissions and distribution project works.
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, project planning, and relevant legislation (e.g. Victorian Roads Management Act).
