About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our Utilities and Infrastructure team in a full time, 12-month max term capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.
This position is responsible for leveraging civil engineering technical knowledge and experience to contribute to the effective design, procurement and delivery of technical goods and services for our infrastructure projects.
The role will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, Construction team members, contractor resources and other internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver allocated projects safely, efficiently and in a way that maintains Beon’s reputation for reliability and quality.
*There will be a requirement of this role to travel on occasion to our project sites which include interstate and New Zealand.
In this role you will deliver:
- Lead the delivery of civil works packages across major EPC infrastructure projects, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities, including preparation of RFTs, tender evaluation, contractor selection and contract administration.
- Provide technical civil engineering expertise to support project planning, design development, construction and project execution.
- Coordinate and manage civil subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and other stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Review engineering designs and contribute to constructability, operability and maintainability improvements.
- Develop scopes of work, technical specifications and procurement documentation, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Oversee quality assurance and project completion activities, including ITP reviews, inspections, testing, defect management and handover.
- Drive continuous improvement, risk management and a strong safety culture while fostering positive relationships across project teams and external partners.

To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Civil / Structural / Construction).
- Project Management qualifications are advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years' experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 civil contractor in a project delivery environment.
- Strong technical expertise in civil construction, including bulk earthworks, drainage, access roads, concrete foundations and industrial structures.
- Proven ability to manage consultants, subcontractors and suppliers, driving performance and successful project outcomes.
- Experience delivering projects within EPC, Design & Construct or major infrastructure environments.
- Sound understanding of procurement, contract administration, risk management, commercial principles and relevant engineering standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety, quality management and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
