About the role
The Senior Portfolio Analyst is responsible for delivering network portfolio insights to support the development of long-term network investment plans and maintenance of network portfolio governance artefacts that underpin the expenditure optimisation process.
The main responsibilities of the role are to:
- Support the development of the long-term capex and opex investment plans
- Develop a range of portfolio reports and analytics
- Carry out adhoc analysis to draw out meaningful insights and make recommendations
- Maintain portfolio governance artefacts that underpin the expenditure optimisation process
This role will be based in Melbourne CBD office.
Key Responsibilities
- Support investment owners in Electricity Networks teams to upload the 10 year forecasts for both Capex and Opex into the Asset Investing Planning Tool (Copperleaf)
- Review investment projects/programs and validate benefit streams are applied in accordance with the Value Framework
- Analyse forecasted price and volume movements against historical performance, explaining key variances, trends and drivers of movements against previous forecasts
- Develop and maintain key analytical reports to support scenario analysis and review portfolio management outcomes within the budget year
- Produce analysis of portfolio data from a variety of sources to draw out insights and make recommendations for corrective courses of action for management
- Present data into a concise set of tables and graphs showing clear trending and areas of focus
- Support maintaining the process documentation for the portfolio management framework
- Conduct analysis to validate project costs and benefits that underpin their economic assessment
Key Criteria
- Experience in portfolio management and financial investment principles
- Experience in the development of long-term Capex and Opex budgets and forecasts
- Experience within the utilities, mining, construction, pharmaceutical, telecommunications, NBN or consulting industry
- Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, Engineering, IT or relevant discipline
