About the role
We're looking for a Revenue Assurance Specialist to support network billing, tariff management, and revenue assurance activities that ensure accurate, timely, and compliant billing outcomes.
Working in a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, you'll investigate billing exceptions, resolve complex issues, and partner with stakeholders across metering, operations, finance, and customer teams to drive positive revenue outcomes. You'll also contribute to process improvement initiatives, maintain strong documentation practices, and support compliance with regulatory requirements, Delegations of Authority (DOA), and Segregation of Duties (SoD) controls.
We're seeking someone with strong analytical and stakeholder management skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and experience within regulated industries such as electricity, gas, utilities, metering, or energy retail.
This is an excellent opportunity for a billing, revenue assurance, metering, or business analyst professional who enjoys problem-solving, improving processes, and delivering outcomes in a deadline-driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support end-to-end monthly network billing readiness and execution activities, completing allocated tasks to help ensure maximum billable revenue is invoiced each cycle.
- Prepare and process billing adjustments and support responses to retailer disputes and customer/retailer queries, ensuring evidence is documented and outcomes are delivered within required timeframes and in line with NEM rules and contracts.
- Investigate and resolve tariff/rating defects impacting billing, partnering with IT, metering and market operations; escalate systemic issues and recurring defects to the Revenue Assurance Team Leader.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting evidence for tariff changes and configurations, assisting audit requests and demonstrating compliance with pricing and market obligations.
- Partner with stakeholders to ensure billing and tariff outcomes align to internal controls (DOA/SOD), customer/contract requirements, B2B specifications and NEM rules; raise and resolve compliance risks early.
- Contribute to a high-performing, collaborative team culture through ownership, accountability and strong stakeholder relationships.
- Actively participate in regulatory and compliance-related activities as directed by the business, ensuring adherence to applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and compliance obligations.
- Promote, initiate, and support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence, including contributing to process enhancement, system improvements, and project delivery to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and customer outcomes.

What you’ll need from day one
- Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Highly developed analytical capability to interpret large data sets, identify drivers of unbilled revenue/revenue leakage, and translate insights into actions that improve cashflow outcomes.
- Experience in revenue assurance, billing operations and/or tarif, metering or back office operations within a complex regulated environment (preferably energy/utility B2B).
- Demonstrated experience working in a billing/revenue assurance environment, including managing exceptions, reconciling outcomes, and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues within agreed timeframes.
