About the role: 
 
The Safety Advisor role (also known as Projects HSE Advisor internally) provides visible and technical HSE support to the operational requirements of CitiPower & Powercor. This includes coordinating, implementing and maintaining our HSE systems to effectively and efficiently support the safe and sustainable delivery of work. 
 
This junior to mid-level Advisor will assure that all business HSE and Work Practice systems, processes and requirements are implemented to a high quality and opportunities for continual improvement are optimised.
 
This position can be based in Melbourne CBD, Richmond, Brooklyn or Geelong, and it comes with a part-private use vehicle as this role requires regular travel across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

What you’ll deliver:
 
•    Ensure compliance over numerous projects in a fast-paced environment, including creating HSE documentation.
•    Facilitate risk assessment workshops with project delivery teams.
•    Complete inspections and create inspection reports to be received by key stakeholders.
•    Identify opportunities for improvement to ensure best practice and effective work processes and make recommendations. 
•    Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop reports and communications to meet or exceed internal and external stakeholder expectations.
•    Negotiate effectively with parties in line with business processes and requirements.

 

To succeed in the role you’ll have: 


•    2-3 years of experience as an HSE professional with site-based exposure within a high-risk environment.
•    Experience with conducting audits or site inspections.
•    Minimum Cert IV Level of Health and Safety and/or Environmental (or similar).
•    A technical background, including knowledge of OHS, Environment and duties of a PCBU through applicable legislation, acts, regulations, codes of practice and standards.  
•    Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
