About the Role:

We are currently looking for an experienced workforce planning professional to join our team on a full-time permanent capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.

 

Working as part of our Stakeholder and Community Engagement team this position will be responsible for supporting Beon’s site-based project teams in providing oversight and coordination of workforce planning and management while working across all our workstreams including Renewables, Utilities & Infrastructure, Commissioning, and Operations & Maintenance. 

 

In addition, this role will lead the design and implementation of employment programs and workforce solutions to ensure meaningful employment opportunities, fostering an inclusive workplace culture, and delivering on our community and First Nations engagement strategies.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in working the renewable energy or construction sector and working/engaging with local communities. In addition, this candidate will also have building strong relationships with stakeholders, excellent communication skills and time management skills. 

 

The successful applicant for the role will be required to occasionally travel to our project sites and communities.

 

Other key duties and responsibilities: 

  • Work with and support project teams to design, deliver and manage employment programs and workforce solutions for the mechanical and electrical build on Beon’s large-scale solar farms and other relevant projects.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Beon’s labour hire partners
  • Provide localised advice in respect of union engagement plans in collaboration with the Victorian Power Networks (VPN) HR team and labour hire providers
  • Assist with the onboarding of externally contracted (non-payroll) resources on site, ensuring compliance with Beon’s values, behavioural expectations, and compliance standards
  • Work collaboratively with the Community Engagement and Sustainability (CES) team to design and deliver pre-employment training focusing on programs such as Women in Solar and First Nations employment
  • Support our teams to develop and a positive and inclusive workplace culture by developing facilitating team meetings, workshops and other engagement activities
  • Lead the delivery of team-building workshops to strengthen collaboration and morale.
  • Work alongside the First Nations Engagement Lead to ensure meaningful participation and benefits for First Nations peoples through training and employment on Beon projects. 

 

To succeed in this role you will have: 

  • Degree in Business, Communications, Environmental or Social Sciences or related discipline (desirable)
  • IAP2 qualifications (desirable)
  • Excellent relationship building skills and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of social procurement practices within the infrastructure, construction and/or energy sector
  • Demonstrated experience working with a large field workforce, preferably in a construction environment
  • Extensive experience in community engagement and stakeholder management in corporations with high standards of performance
  • Experience in working and engaging with First Nations Peoples communities and organisations
  • Cultural awareness and understanding of First Nations Peoples culture, history, challenges and achievements.
