About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our growing Renewables Projects team based at our Melbourne CBD head office in a full time and permanent capacity.
This role will be responsible for managing and leading Beon’s projects and project teams in a fast-paced environment throughout the full project lifecycle from opportunity through to delivery and closeout, while ensuring all key deliverables and targets are met. These deliverables include safety, scope, quality, budget, timeframes and overall fulfilling customer expectations.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a background in the renewables industry particularly when it comes to managing solar projects throughout the project management lifecycle. In addition, this candidate will have strong financial and commercial acumen, well developed leadership & mentoring skills and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
*Please note there will be the requirement to travel to multiple project sites across eastern Australia including Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland as part of this role.
What will you deliver?
- Manage and lead projects on time, within budget, to the required quality, OH&S and environmental standards, ensuring customer and commercial needs are met
- Manage and lead the delivery of projects and services including managing internal and sub-contract resources provided
- Manage contract processes associated with projects, including the preparation, evaluation and issue of tenders for construction, major plant and/or materials
- Complete financial management including specific cost control, variation management, accurate month end reporting and project forecasting
- Implement risk management initiatives to identify, manage and control project related issues
- Ensure during the scope development phase that the objectives, assumptions, constraints and preliminary risk assessment are confirmed
- Ensure that all work activities are undertaken in accordance with policies, company practices, processes and standards
- Ensure contractual compliance in accordance with head contracts and subcontracts in place.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Accreditation to Certified Practicing Project Manager with Australian Institute of Project Management
- Completion of a management, leadership, commercial or similar program
- Demonstrated experience in Project Management Methodologies (e.g. 'PMBok' or 'PRINCE', ‘Agile’ principals) and project management tools (e.g. Primavera) along with project reporting.
- Proven ability to apply project management principles, preferably in a renewable energy, electrical distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure environment
- Experience of and motivation for leading, developing and enabling professional and high performing teams, adding to a performance and delivery culture
- Understanding of large renewable/infrastructure projects, including risks, opportunities, resource requirements and stakeholder management
- Experience using SAP and other project management, estimating or management tools
