About the Role:
This is an exciting permanent opportunity to join our Major Projects team, with flexibility to be based at various depot locations.
Reporting to the Manager Urban Major Projects, you will be responsible for delivering defined projects for Electricity Networks in line with safety, quality and governance requirements. You will apply your project management expertise and knowledge of the electricity distribution and transmission networks to successfully lead and deliver complex projects, including transmission lines and terminal stations up to 220kV.
What you’ll deliver:
- Manage and lead major projects to achieve scope, time, budget, quality, OH&S and environmental standards.
- Provide effective project management ensuring project outcomes align with approved scope of works.
- Deliver projects involving both distribution and transmission infrastructure, including terminal stations and transmission lines up to 220kV.
- Prepare, evaluate and issue tenders for construction, major plant and/or materials.
- Oversee financial management including cost control, variation management, month-end reporting and forecasting.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships, including customers and internal Electricity Network Groups.
- Contribute to project scope development, approvals, and governance processes.
- Identify and implement improvements to project management systems.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, safety and quality standards.
To succeed in this role you’ll have:
- A Tertiary Qualification in an Engineering or associated area/ discipline
- Ability to achieve Accreditation as a CPPM with the Australian Institute of Project Management: and/or
- Experience working with Project Management principles and Project Delivery Methodology in the electrical distribution and sub-transmission areas
- Proven ability in SAP and other project management, estimating and/or management tools.
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Financial Management, project governance, forecasting and reporting.
- The ability to identify the project schedule of works during the planning stages to assess the risks, opportunities, resource requirements, major plant items, materials and construction work practices and methodologies.
- Demonstrable practical application of construction methodology and integration of this into the planning phases of the project
