About the Role:
We are currently looking for an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join our Utilities and Infrastructure team in a full time, 12-month fixed term capacity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.
This position is responsible for leveraging civil engineering technical knowledge and experience to contribute to the effective design, procurement and delivery of technical goods and services for our infrastructure projects.
The role will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, Construction team members, contractor resources and other internal and external stakeholders to plan and deliver allocated projects safely, efficiently and in a way that maintains Beon’s reputation for reliability and quality.
*There will be a requirement of this role to travel to our project sites in Victoria or interstate while projects are in delivery.
In this role you will deliver:
- Provide comprehensive technical support to the Project Manager relevant to Civil Engineering
- Act as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the assigned work package.
- Provide contract administration services precisely in accordance with the subcontracts, including progress claim assessment, variation claim assessment and extension of time claim assessment, for the internal reviews and approvals.
- Coordinate with the internal supporting function teams, including design, scheduling, project control, quality, OHS, site management, to ensure the assigned work package is delivered promptly and effectively.
- Lead the non-compliance close out process to ensure all identified non-compliances are closed out appropriately and promptly.
- Establish and maintain a professional working relationship with all internal and external stakeholders to enable successful delivery of Beon projects.
- Actively contribute to planning, scoping and estimating for projects, bids and tenders
- Work as the conduit between designers, constructors and the equipment manufacturers/suppliers, proactively problem solving and managing delivery risks
- Review project quality management requirements and preparation of QA/QC documentation including preparation of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) for hold point inspections, Factory or Site Acceptance Testing
To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering – Civil
- Extensive construction contract administration experience in tier1 or tier 2 environment
- Victorian Professional Engineer Registration (or eligible to obtain)
- Project Management qualifications are advantageous
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the practical and engineering requirements for the construction of bulk earthworks, access tracks, drainage, large concrete foundations, and pre-cast concrete industrial buildings.
- Working understanding of the application of project management principles in an EPC or D&C context
- Thorough knowledge of the requirements for effective scoping, sourcing, procuring and managing of suppliers and service providers
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders with diverse requirements, needs and aptitudes in an engineering construction contracting environment
- Experience in practical outworking of risk management
- Demonstrated commitment to a positive Health & Safety culture and practice.
