About the role
Join our Major Projects team as a Project Controller, where you’ll play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of complex capital projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, you will provide end-to-end project controls support, ensuring effective management of cost, schedule, risk, and reporting across the full project lifecycle. Your work will enable informed decision-making and help keep projects on track against approved baselines.
You’ll be hands-on across core project control activities including cost forecasting, schedule development and monitoring, performance reporting, and contract support. This role goes beyond reporting—you’ll provide meaningful insights, identify risks and trends early, and help drive actions to achieve project outcomes.
You’ll contribute to maintaining strong project discipline through accurate data, structured reporting, and alignment across cost, schedule, and scope, working closely with delivery teams, finance, and procurement stakeholders. Experience in infrastructure, utilities, or engineering projects will be highly regarded, particularly in environments with complex delivery requirements and multiple stakeholders. This is an opportunity to be embedded within project teams and make a direct impact on delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking.
- Establish and manage cost and schedule baselines with the Project Manager.
- Perform monthly forecasting, variance analysis, and estimate-to-complete updates.
- Support the development and maintenance of integrated project schedules and monitor critical path.
- Track project performance and provide insightful reporting on cost, schedule, and risks.
- Identify and communicate risks, trends, and opportunities, with recommended actions.
- Support contract administration, including progress claims and variations.
- Maintain alignment and integrity across cost, schedule, and scope data.
- Establish and maintain good working relations with all stakeholders across the organisation to enable successful project.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Tertiary education in Engineering, Accounting, Finance or Contract Management
- Working knowledge of Project Management methodologies, tools, systems and technologies, specifically PMBOK.
- An understanding of the Electricity Distribution industry.
- Experience supporting delivery of infrastructure or capital projects (utilities, construction, engineering or similar).
- Skills in cost control, project scheduling and issues tracking.
- Previous experience and understanding of project management and project control principles.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues at different levels across the business.
- Experience in SAP financial reports and project planning tools (e.g. MS Project) is desirable.
