About the role:
This position ensures the accurate and efficient forecasting, planning and delivery of the program and achievement of related financial objectives.
Leading multi-functional teams the role is responsible for managing the processes and activities relating to the portfolio controls & governance, forecast, planning, analysis and reporting for the works program.
This role requires regular travel to other Powercor depots (including but not limited to: Brooklyn, Bendigo, Warrnambool and Horsham), including some overnight travel. Vehicle options can be booked internally.
What you’ll deliver:
- Develop and manage the framework of program & portfolio controls to govern the projects & programs for inclusion and delivery in the annual CAPEX and overall construction works program.
- Manage, govern and report the CAPEX forecast for the works program and develop and maintain forecast and reporting system for all CAPEX projects.
- Develop and maintain the strategic works-resource plan governing delivery of the works program over both short- and long-term horizons.
- Work with key stakeholders, including field service, commercial and delivery partners, to implement the agreed resource strategies required to maintain alignment and delivery of the works-resource program.
- Develop an economic & risk focus to maintain works program alignment to budget.
- Develop, maintain and manage a portfolio controls framework for the business in order to provide best practice governance and support for projects and programs of work ensuing accuracy in project forecasting of timeliness & cost.
- Create collaborative team environment and instil a workplace culture that is focused on service delivery excellence delivering best value customer outcomes
- Develop and maintain an accurate and aligned financial and works program forecast and delivery (actuals) reporting suite with transparent and comprehensive status reporting to inform both operational needs and financial periodical reporting requirements.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
- Extensive work experience with leading and developing teams.
- Demonstrated experience with working with Project Management Principles and/or in a senior accounting/finance role and/or in program management or portfolio project management.
- Experience in commercial/financial management especially forecasting and reporting.
- Strong analytical, reporting, business writing and problem-solving skills.
- Track record of building strong relationships at senior levels and with external stakeholders for effective business outcomes.
- Reasonable knowledge of the electricity distribution, sub-transmission, transmission and/or infrastructure industry with a working knowledge of Powercor/CitiPower technical standards, construction practices and estimating work methodologies will be well regarded.
- A Tertiary Qualification in a financial discipline &/or engineering.
