About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Insurance Manager, driving the strategy behind our insurance programs across our essential energy networks and diverse subsidiaries.
Reporting to the Treasurer, in this role you will manage over 30 insurance policies covering critical risks such as general liability (including bushfire risk coverage), property, and workers' compensation while ensuring cost optimisation and regulatory compliance.
Using your experience in a similar role you will partner with senior stakeholders, brokers, and underwriters to safeguard our business, deliver expert risk advice, and influence decision-making on major contracts and initiatives.

Key duties and responsibilities:
- Lead the design, placement, and management of comprehensive insurance policies, ensuring optimal coverage and cost efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters to secure competitive terms.
- Provide expert risk advice on contracts, new initiatives, and emerging risks, collaborating with key stakeholders across our businesses.
- Oversee claims management, data analysis, and reporting to better inform decision-making and enhance risk mitigation.
- Manage the insurance budget, identifying opportunities for optimisation while ensuring compliance and coverage.
- Deliver high-quality presentations and reports to senior leaders and committees on insurance strategies and updates.
- Develop and coach team members, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.
Required skills and experience:
- Strong experience in corporate insurance or commercial risk management, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or heavy industries.
- Strong knowledge of insurance principles, risk management practices, and contractual risk assessment.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and manage diverse stakeholders at all levels.
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
