About the Role:
We are currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Grid Connections Manager to join our team in a full-time permanent role based in the Melbourne CBD.
You will be responsible for managing the registration and commissioning process for a number of Beon’s project portfolio, including solar farms. In addition the role will cover the procurement and direct management of power systems works packages, as well as engagement with AEMO and Network Service Providers to ensure key deadlines are met.
The successful applicant will have strong understanding and experience in the delivery of R1 and R2 packages for renewable projects (solar farms or wind farms) as well as experience negotiating with AEMO and NSPs advocating for the connection of these projects. In addition, this candidate will also have experience building strong relationships with stakeholders, problem solving complex issues and have excellent communication skills and time management skills.

Other key duties and responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver grid compliance testing plans and deliver compliance obligations during the operations and maintenance period of projects
- Develop or procure PSSE and PSCAD models for a variety of generation and non-generation projects
- Analyse, select and model appropriate Power Plant Controller (PPC) and inverter settings for stable and compliant solar farm operation
- Develop and deliver grid compliance testing plans and deliver compliance obligations during the operations and maintenance period of projects
- Delivery of generator registration packages
- Design and maintain electrical simulation models
- Generator performance testing
- Support business functions that are reliant on power systems expertise
- Document site-specific SCADA requirements that come out of the connection studies (e.g. runback schemes, remote control signals, etc).
- Advise Design Managers on dependencies between design decisions and electrical studies.

To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- NER and Victorian Registration
- Knowledge of the electricity distribution and transmission industry including renewable generation (solar/wind/BESS).
- Knowledge of the electricity distribution and transmission industry including renewable generation
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of the AEMO R1 and R2 processes, and the requirements of ongoing grid compliance monitoring
- Strong technical understanding of electrical power systems, harmonics, substation primary plant, protection systems, inverters, SCADA and control theory
- Demonstrated ability to manage consultancy contracts or to deliver works while engaged under a consultancy contract
- Experience in a delivery role in the electrical construction industry (preferred).
