About the Role: 

 

We currently have an exciting and rare opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Network Control and Operations Team as an Emergency Management and Control Centre Specialist. This role will be responsible for overseeing our emergency management processes, systems and teams responsible for the management of electricity network major events, which includes escalated customer interruptions typically caused by severe weather.  This also involves liaising with stakeholders and senior management. 

The role will also be pivotal in providing additional support to develop and maintain operational processes relating to the System Control Centre which includes supporting real time operations and business reporting. 

The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a control room environment, knowledge in Emergency Management Procedures and in the use of Outage Management Systems (OMS). In addition you will be a team player and a confident communicator, passionate about building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.

 

What you’ll deliver:

 

  • Ownership of the escalation team function, including all emergency management processes and systems
  • Ensure the escalation team and business stakeholders have the appropriate tools, equipment, systems and support processes to manage network escalations
  • Develop, coordinate & deliver regular training packages for escalation team members
  • Conduct escalation debriefs, prepare all associated documentation and drive resultant improvement initiatives
  • Support real time operations of the System Control Centre’s IT, phone and situational awareness systems, including business continuity
  • Coordinate and execute business reporting for Network Control and Operations
  • Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to improve coordination and information sharing, including representation at industry forums

 

To succeed in the role you’ll have: 

 

  • Tertiary qualification in a business, emergency management, commerce and/or relevant demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment is desirable
  • Experience in emergency management or control room environment
  • Experience in developing, recommending and implementing improvement opportunities that have directly impacted upon business performance
  • Experience in coordinating programs and activities in order to achieve business targets
  • Experience in analysing business and operational data and preparation of reports and relevant documentation.
