About the role:
The role leads a team of specialised engineers responsible for delivering technical engineering services that support the Electrical Plant Maintenance Team across Powercor and Citipower’s transmission, sub-transmission, and distribution networks. It oversees preventative and reactive maintenance programs to ensure network safety, reliability, and compliance.
This role also provides technical leadership in data analysis, diagnostics, fault investigations, plant breakdowns, and maintenance projects.
As the engineering team is located across our Melbourne CBD, Richmond, Brooklyn, Ballarat, and Bendigo offices, this role can be based at any of these locations (with a preference for any of our Melbourne offices) and will involve some travel between offices.
What you’ll deliver:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and direction to the Electrical Plant Maintenance engineering and technical team members.
- Assist in the development of EPMNT resource capabilities in terms of engineering expertise, technical knowledge and behaviours to meet current and future workload requirements.
- Manage the portfolio of engineering tasks assigned to direct reports, setting priorities and expectations while minimising business, network and safety risks.
- Provide effective engineering capability to ensure desired outcomes of plant maintenance activities and assigned projects are delivered in accordance to quality, cost and timeframe requirements.
- Effectively implement innovation through gaining ownership from stakeholders and through effectively managing any resultant changes.
- Review and ensure accuracy of SAP Maintenance Plans for business wide programs.
- Oversee and audit data management for all related systems to ensure accurate and auditable records are maintained.
To succeed in the role, you’ll have:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with experience relating to electric power systems.
- Registration with the Victorian Business Licensing Authority as a Professional Engineer (RPEV) in the field of Electrical Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring or managing a project team in the maintenance/construction/utilities space.
- Experience in electrical plant maintenance and related assets. Particularly maintenance, testing and construction of zone substation plant, regulators, ACR’s, kiosks, CBUs or underground cables.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and apply engineering solutions utilising appropriate regulations, standards, policies and other technical reference material.
- SAP skills (desirable).
