About the Role:

 

We are currently looking for a Design Manager to join our Engineering Group in a full-time permanent role based in the Melbourne CBD.

 

This role will be responsible for technical leadership for Beon’s design for renewable energy developments, including solar farms, grid scale batteries and connection assets, as well as utility and infrastructure projects. This includes analysis of complex customer and stakeholder needs, contract input, coordination and negotiation with project managers throughout the delivery phase, technical ownership and coordination for all aspects of the design, selection of appropriate equipment and materials, and providing on-site support.

 

The successful applicant will have strong technical understanding and experience in the delivery of multidisciplinary project designs.

Other key duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Analysing customer and project requirements and driving the timely production of compliant design deliverables with both internal and external design service providers
  • Providing technical input into selection of equipment RFQs and designs to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Evaluating, setting up and managing design services provider contracts for the fulfilment of designs and engineering services
  • Ensuring that designs meet all applicable standards and project specifications
  • Responsibility for project design management and technical direction throughout the project lifecycle, from bid stage to customer hand-over
  • Supporting the bid team through development of concept designs needed for their pricing activities
  • Participate in the handover of solutions to the clients’ technical team

To succeed in this role you will have:

 

  • Bachelor of Engineering
  • NER and Victorian Registration minimum, Chartered member of Engineers Australia preferable
  • Sound and detailed understanding of electrical design processes, policies, and procedures
  • Proven experience in the delivery of multidisciplinary designs
  • Good understanding of project management and document control tools
  • Experience in AutoCAD or other software key to the discipline of expertise
