About the Role:
We are currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing engineering team in a full-time permanent role based in the Melbourne CBD.
This role will support the delivery of high‑quality electrical designs for renewable energy infrastructure projects, including large‑scale solar farms and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
Working closely with Design Managers, Project Managers, construction teams and external stakeholders, you will be responsible for producing drawings, studies, calculations and technical documentation that enable safe, efficient, cost‑effective construction and long‑term operation of assets. This role suits an engineer who enjoys hands‑on design, collaboration and continuous improvement in a fast‑paced renewables environment.

This role on occasion will require travel to project sites location across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and New Zealand.
Other key duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver electrical designs and drawings for solar farms and BESS, including layouts, elevations, electrical schematics and block diagrams
- Prepare required design studies, calculations and reports such as voltage drop, cut & fill, protection and solar yield assessments
- Use specialist modelling and analysis tools (e.g. PVSyst, CYMCAP and internal tools) to support design development
- Coordinate designs with Design Managers and external providers to achieve optimal project outcomes
- Support procurement and delivery teams through design input, material take‑offs and review of supplier documentation
- Engage with site teams to resolve design issues and support constructability, operability and maintainability outcomes
- Manage and maintain accurate project documentation, ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements.

To succeed in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) with Victorian Professional Engineer registration (or working towards registration)
- Experience in renewable energy projects, particularly solar farms and/or BESS
- Strong AutoCAD skills with the ability to work independently on design deliverables
- Experience using PVSyst, CYMCAP and advanced Microsoft Excel for electrical design and analysis
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D and electrical standards, codes and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of electrical equipment installation and operation in renewable energy infrastructure
- Strong collaboration, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
