About the role 

We are looking a talented and self-motivated Data Leader to join the Electricity Networks business unit. This role will report to the Network Systems Manager and you will need to have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to interact with varying stakeholders (i.e., management and employees).

The role will require an in-depth knowledge of data and information management in particular DAMA DMBOK and have a good understanding of GIS, SAP, electricity networks and industry. As a Data Leader, you will be confident in the extraction of data from core systems and be responsible for implementing a data governance framework and operating model. Also, required to provide analytical support for asset performance monitoring, strategy and business improvement projects.  

What you’ll deliver: 

•    Understanding data and data sources - identify potential data sources internally and externally to the business that can be used for data analysis 
•    Data governance - supporting the development of data specifications for network asset groups and the implementation of a business wide data governance tool.
•    Generate insights and forecasts - conduct analysis of the data to identify insights, trends, and relationships 
•    Operational and financial modelling - provide operational and financial modelling support to the Regulatory team, such as building a cost model 
•    Communicate - strong influencing skills at a senior level and an ability to credibly engage

To succeed in this role you’ll have:

•    Strong experience in data governance role and working for an electricity utility
•    Proven ability in implementing and applying data governance principles with tangible successful outcomes
•    Knowledge of at least one leading Data Governance platform ( e.g. Collibra, Alation etc )
•    Knowledge of Excel, SQL, Tableau
•    Experience in GIS and SAP usage 
•    Strong business analysis experience

•    Tertiary Degree qualification in computer science, maths, statistics or a relevant tertiary qualification
