About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Asset Engineer to join our Asset Management team and help drive safe, sustainable, and efficient asset management outcomes across our electricity distribution and transmission networks. The role is a permanent, full-time opportunity based at our Melbourne CBD head office.

In this strategic role, you'll apply your engineering expertise to develop and optimise asset management strategies, risk management plans, and technical standards that support the long-term performance and reliability of our line assets. Working across CitiPower, Powercor, United Energy and Transmission Operations Australia, you'll provide critical insights through engineering analysis, risk modelling, business case development, and stakeholder engagement to ensure our assets are managed responsibly and deliver value to customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and improve asset management strategies, plans, policies and standards for line assets.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement risk-based asset management initiatives to optimise asset performance and reliability.
• Analyse asset condition, performance and reliability data to identify risks, trends and investment opportunities.
• Lead the development of business cases, budgets, long-term asset plans and regulatory submissions.
• Investigate asset failures and incidents, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Collaborate with operational, regulatory and business stakeholders to deliver effective asset management outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, innovation and technical excellence across asset management practices.

To succeed in this role you will have:

• Degree qualified in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering, with professional engineering registration or eligibility to obtain it.
• Strong understanding of electricity network assets and asset management principles.
• Experience developing asset management strategies and applying risk-based asset management methodologies.
• Knowledge of asset risk assessment, reliability engineering, failure investigations and maintenance optimisation techniques.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Experience preparing technical reports, business cases, budgets and investment plans with strong commercial awareness.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse teams and audiences.
