About the role
This role provides direction in strategic, tactical and operational asset management expertise for distribution plant and underground cable assets (within the Distribution Plant team) across the CitiPower, Powercor and United Energy electricity networks.
The role also contributes to the safe, sustainable and efficient performance of distribution plant and underground cable assets through the development, review and implementation of asset management strategies, plans and maintenance procedures.
The incumbent will also be required to develop financial and volume forecasts and business cases supporting investments for the replacement and management of network assets.
This is a 9–12 month fixed-term contract opportunity.
Key responsibilities
- Develop, review and implement asset management strategies for distribution plant and underground cable assets to deliver efficient and effective outcomes.
- Undertake asset failure investigations.
- Develop and review asset management plans and asset maintenance procedures to ensure safe, sustainable and reliable performance.
- Conducts audits to ensure maintenance activities are undertaken in accordance with procedural requirements.
- Prioritise tasks to ensure effective management and delivery associated with asset management strategies.
- Contribute to the formulation and management of capital and operating budgets for the efficient management of network assets.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of business improvement initiatives to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of work processes, systems, tools, reports, strategies, plans and procedures.
- Contribute to the identification and implementation of new technology and best practice to the management of relevant network assets in order to support performance optimisation.
- Establish effective business relationships with stakeholders to ensure business outcomes are achieved.
- Ensure stakeholders are engaged in the development and implementation of asset management plans, procedures and work instructions to achieve optimal outcomes.

What you’ll need from day one
- Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in asset management in a Network Service Provider business, including experience of network planning, design engineering, project management and maintenance management.
- Experience in financial budgeting, forecasting and project management techniques.
- Working knowledge of the electricity distribution network assets such as transformers, switchgear, underground cables, battery energy storage systems and EV chargers.
- Knowledge and experience in strategic report writing and business justifications.
- Working knowledge of SAP and asset investment optimisation tools.
