About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our Large Customer Projects team in a full time and permanent capacity based out of our Glen Waverley office.
This position will provide for the management and delivery of large customer-initiated projects and programs for United Energy, including grid connections and major assets relocations, in accordance with PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), Victorian Electrical Supply Industry (VESI) and National Energy Regulations (NER) framework, and all health and safety, quality and governance requirements. A part of this role you will working closely with customers, contractors and internal teams ensuring that all stakeholders remain aligned and committed to project delivery.
Being able to drive process enhancements, improve the customer experience and build robust delivery systems will play a key part in this role. We are looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude who is passionate about meeting customer’s objectives, challenging the status quo, and delivering exceptional project outcomes.
This role will require you to work predominantly locally in Glen Waverley with some travel to sites.
What you’ll deliver:
- Manage and lead large customer projects to achieve on time, budget, quality, OH&S, environmental standards and ensuring customer and related financial and governance requirements
- Apply your knowledge and experience in project management and electrical distribution networks to develop and deliver customer solutions
- Proactively and effectively engage customers, stakeholders, and contractors to deliver projects to agreed timeframes, fixed budgets and in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Management of the tender/approval and/or contract signing for contract works
- Implement safe working cultures at all levels and ensure all health and safety policies, procedures and practices are adhered to at all times
- Develop and improve project delivery and customer service systems to improve business outcomes.
- Finance management including specific cost control, variation management, accurate month end reporting and project forecasting

To succeed in this role you’ll have:
- A Tertiary Qualification in an Engineering or associated area/ discipline or Diploma of Project Management
- Strong understanding of project management principles (PMBOK)
- Proven experience working with Project Management principles and Project Delivery Methodology in the electrical distribution and sub-transmission areas
- Experience in delivering customer-initiated projects in the Victorian distribution industry is highly desirable
- Electrical design experience is highly desirable
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of Financial Management, project governance, forecasting and reporting
- Ability to build detailed project schedules, identify risks/opportunities and plan resources effectively
- Experience working with SAP and project management/estimating systems.
