About the Role:

 

We currently have an opportunity for multiple Plant Operators to join our team based at the Brooklyn depot.

 

As a Plant Operator, you will carry out all functions associated with supporting the construction, maintenance, fault, and emergency restoration of CitiPower / Powercor electricity distribution systems.

 

The role will focus on operating plant and equipment predominantly Pole Erection Recovery Units (PERU’s) along with associated Crane mounted Task Trucks. Role will also undertake a range of manual tasks that are aligned with the business operational requirements.

 

Plant Operators are expected to meet the company’s customer service objectives of providing a safe, reliable, timely and cost-effective supply of electricity and associated services.

 

To qualify you will possess a strong Health and Safety and hold a current Victorian Driver’s Licence along with the relevant WorkSafe High Risk Licence.

  • C2 Slewing mobile crane operation licence (up to 20 tonnes) – as a minimum (mandatory)
  • Experience in the operation and use of PERU’s (optional) 
  • Dogging licence (DG) (mandatory)
  • Intermediate rigging licence (RI) (optional)
  • Heavy Vehicle Licence HR or HC (mandatory)
  • Interstate applicants, please attach Statement of Attainment, High Risk Licences and Construction Induction Card to your application 

 

Pre-Employment:

 

Medical: Applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical examination (which includes hearing test, colour blindness and physical examination) and relevant drug and alcohol test, to assess fitness for work.

 

Qualification checks:  Qualification checks (ESI Worker) as well as Entitlement to Work in Australia checks will also form part of the application process.

 

Driver History: In the final stages of recruitment candidates will be expected to furnish a current, complete driving history report from VIC roads or equivalent government agency.
