About the role
Reporting to the Asset Inspection Team Manager, the Asset Inspector undertakes the inspection and assessment of power poles and associated overhead and underground assets across the CitiPower and Powercor network. Inspections of infrastructure and assets must be carried out with a high degree of accuracy, as the Asset Inspector is responsible for identifying and categorising faults, defects, asset condition and details, which form a major contribution to the organisation’s work program and asset management system.
We are looking for someone with high attention to detail, who is comfortable delivering results independently. The role requires the incumbent to travel frequently within their designated area in metro and regional Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect overhead lines, below ground assets and associated systems in accordance with organisational standards.
- Inspect and test distribution earthing systems identifying faults and systems that require rectification.
- Conduct specified preservative treatments and minor maintenance tasks as required
- Ensure all scheduled works are completed within the specified timeframes.
- Identify, verify and update asset details and data within the organisation’s asset management system.
- Report on any identified defects, features that require maintenance, and potential and existing safety and/or environmental hazards.
- Travel to other work locations and sites may be required (eg. Ballarat, Maryborough, Bendigo, Kyneton, Shepparton, Echuca, Cobram)
Key Criteria
- Certificate II in ESI – Asset Inspection & Testing, compliant to the Asset Inspector role based on the VESI Skills and Training Matrix
- Construction industry white card, current first aid training certificate and chemical handling certificate.
- Sound knowledge of asset management inspection principles and techniques.
- Dedication and commitment to working safely.
- Valid Australian drivers licence.
