About the role:
The Statutory Compliance Officer is responsible for the process and management of obtaining consent and permit approval with regulatory bodies and authorities to ensure CitiPower / Powercor compliance. Through the effective management of relationships with these external parties you will be required to ensure our compliance and limit our liability when undertaking programmed works upon the CitiPower / Powercor Networks.
Statutory Compliance Officer will be a key member of the Planning and Performance team and is expected to assist and add value to process improvement and communication.
This role is a 12 month fixed term role and can be based in Ballarat, Geelong, Bendigo, Warrnambool and Brooklyn.
What you’ll deliver:
- Co-ordinate and manage the responsible authorities application processes for works identified as requiring access to roads reserves
- Co-ordinate and manage the responsible authorities application processes for works identified as requiring access to operational rail and/or tram corridors or land that adjoins a rail corridor
- Review Works Program to proactively identify projects that may require approval, consent, or permit for works completion
- Assist and support the business in the development of appropriate information and awareness programs to ensure that internal and external stakeholders are aware of our responsibilities
- Liaise with affected internal and external stakeholders around the establishment and continuation of exemptions and their requirements
- Update and develop strong internal key stakeholder networks to review and improve program delivery
- Contribute to a culture that is focused on workplace continuous improvement
- Actively support new or modified processes and systems
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of all information within the work program by updating relevant business information systems with consent or permit status in a timely and accurate manner
- Contributes to regular reporting and information forums to review work programs and project progress
To succeed in the role you’ll have:
- Successful Completion of VCE or Certificate III in Business Administration
Good document management skills - High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise time critical outcomes
- Working knowledge of the electricity distribution network
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety (through an understanding of the principles/concepts of the jobs)
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills which enable effective interaction with customers, employees and management
- Ability to understand and interpret applicable legislation and codes of practice (e.g.: Roads Management Act 2004, Rail Management Act 1996 and the Rail Safety National Law Application Act 2013)
