About the role

 

The Resource Coordinator plays a key operational role in the efficient planning and allocation of field resources across the United Energy (UE) electricity network, managed by the Network Control Centre (NCC) in a 24/7 environment.

 

This position is critical in prioritising network faults, coordinating field crews, and minimising customer outages through timely responses to incidents. In addition to day-to-day coordination, the role also supports the review and development of operational systems and processes to enhance overall service delivery and network reliability.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prioritise, coordinate and schedule/dispatch fault, maintenance, monitoring, and servicing activities to ensure optimum safety and efficiency
  • Actively communicate and monitor field crews and contractor activities to ensure timely advice on work progress and completion of activity in field
  • Ensure escalation of emergency management processes where incidents occur on networks that could negatively impact on regulatory compliance or company image
  • Providing accurate fault detection/information and consequent advice to stakeholders e.g. Field Crews, Contact Centre and Contractors to ensure public safety and customer service
  • Ensure accurate capture and updating of data for fault life cycle/resolution, metering, service records and system maintenance notifications on screen (OMS, SAP) based information systems
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of operating procedures, practices and processes
  • Participate in a 24 x 7 NCC Shift Work and Availability Roster to ensure adequate resources for all contingencies

 

 

Key Criteria

 

  • Good Knowledge of NMS (OMS/ DMS) application and other related IT tools
  • Understanding of the operation of 24-hour Control Centre and shift work environment
  • Understanding of Electrical theory
  • Basic knowledge of GIS and SAP
  • Experience working in the electrical industry would be an advantage but not mandatory
  • Demonstrated competency in basic IT skills (keyboard, word, excel, outlook, etc)
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service focus
  • Proven interpersonal skills to successfully work in a close team environment and to build good working relationships with both internal and external organisations
  • Proven attention to detail, closing the loop in communications by storing information and completing documentation
